Healthy Omega 3 Bread with Chia Jam

This bread is perfect for anyone who wants to live a healthy lifestyle but doesn't want to compromise on taste. Make your own Omega 3 rich bread with our handy baking mix!

Ingredients

For this recipe you only need a few simple ingredients:

  • 1 Omega bread mix (500g)
  • 500ml water
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

For the chia jam:

  • 125g raspberries or a box of frozen raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon Boost Mix
  • optional: 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey

Preparation

  1. Place the bread mix in a large bowl and add the water and sea salt. Let the mixture soak for about 15 minutes. This will ensure that all the ingredients mix well together and the dough gets the right consistency.

  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  3. Line a cake tin or loaf tin with a piece of baking paper. It doesn't have to be completely covered, this makes it easier to remove the bread from the tin later.

  4. Pour the dough into the prepared tin and press the top down well so that it is nice and even.

  5. Bake the bread in the oven for 30 minutes. Then turn the bread over (on its head) and bake for another 30 minutes. This ensures even cooking and a crispy crust.

  6. Let the bread cool completely before slicing. This will help the bread keep its shape and make it easy to slice.

Preparation Chia jam:

  1. Add the raspberries to a saucepan over medium heat and simmer until the fruit is soft and begins to bubble.
  2. Then add the Boost Mix and optional sweetener and stir everything well. Let it simmer together for another 2 minutes.
  3. Remove the chia jam from the heat and pour into a jar. Let it cool completely for 5 minutes and then let it thicken in the fridge.

Tip: prefer no chunks? Then mix the chia jam with a hand blender until smooth.

Top two slices of bread with a layer of peanut butter and some chia jam.

Storage tips

The bread stays fresh in the fridge for up to 5 days. It is also delicious toasted. Want to keep the bread longer? Freeze the slices individually so you always have a healthy option at hand.

The chia jam will also keep for up to 5 days in the fridge or for 3 months in the refrigerator.
