Speculaas Oatmeal

A deliciously warming bowl of hot oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 bag of natural oatmeal (40g)
  • 1 medjool date, pitted and chopped (you can replace this with 2 tsp maple syrup or honey)
  • ½ - 1 tsp speculaas spices
  • 180 ml vegetable milk of your choice
  • For the topping: crumbled speculaas cookies and half a banana, sliced


Preparation

  1. Place all ingredients, except the topping, in a small saucepan.
  2. Mix everything well and bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Let the mixture simmer for 3 minutes, or until the desired consistency is reached. Stir regularly to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and add some extra vegetable milk if you want a thinner result.
  5. Scoop the oatmeal into a bowl and garnish with crumbled speculaas cookies and banana. Serve warm and enjoy!
